How tall is Saigon?
Ho Chi Minh City has a population of 9 million (13 million in the metropolitan area) as of 2019 and is the most populous city in Vietnam. The metropolis, located in south-eastern Vietnam, borders the Saigon River and occupies roughly 2,061 square kilometers (796 square miles). Saigon was the capital of the Republic of Vietnam from 1955 until 1975, generally known as South Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh City is Vietnam's financial capital, and is ranked by the Globalization and World Cities Study Network as a Beta+ International City. It houses the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, Vietnam's largest stock exchange by overall market capitalization, and the offices of several national and international banks and businesses.
