Sarah, Duchess of York (born Sarah Margaret Ferguson; October 15, 1959), is Prince Andrew's former wife, Duke of York, Queen Elizabeth II's second son, and Edinburgh's Duke, Prince Philip. They have two children, Eugenie and Princess Beatrice. While Sarah and Andrew divorced in 1996, following a turbulent corporate life she has remained friends with both him and the Queen.Sarah is also involved as a journalist, charitable patron, film director, and television personality. On March 19, 1986, Prince Andrew (fourth at the time in line with the throne) and Sarah Ferguson declared their commitment. Prince Andrew had known Ferguson since childhood, and they had sometimes met in polo matches, and got to know each other again at Royal Ascot in 1985.
