Holly Brook Hafermann (born 23 February 1986) is an American singer, songwriter and record producer from Mazomanie, Wisconsin, known professionally as Skylar Grey. Gray signed a publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Company in 2004 at the age of 17, and a recording contract with Machine Shop Records under the name Holly Brook. Her debut studio album Like Blood Like Honey, released in 2006. In 2010, Grey co-wrote the hit single "Love the Way You Lie" by Eminem and Rihanna, with Eminem and British record producer Alex da Kid, who then signed Grey to Kidinakorner, his label imprint with Interscope Records. In July 2013, Grey's second album, Don't Look Down, was released. The song had reached the top 10 in the United States and released four singles.
