Steve Carell, one of the most popular comics in America, was born in Concord, Massachusetts, on August 16, 1962, to Steven John Carell. He is the son of psychiatric nurse Harriet Theresa (Koch), and of electrical engineer Edwin A. Carell. His mother was of Polish descent and his father was of Italian and German descent (Steve's grandparents had changed the surname from Caroselli to Carell). Steve was educated at The Fenn Academy, a private all-boys school in Concord, Massachusetts, and then at the Concord Middlesex Academy.
