Steve Guttenberg was born in Boropark, Brooklyn, on 24 August 1958 to Ann Newman and Stanley Guttenberg. The family moved from Brooklyn to Queens, and eventually to N. In 1976 Steve graduated from Plainedge High School in Massapequa. He practiced acting in both Long Island and N.Y.City, and moved to L.A. To follow a career in film.His job ranged from wide-ranging humor to mystery and drama, including number one box office hits and 100 selected by The AFI. Guttenberg made his acting debut with Laurence Olivier and Gregory Peck in The Boys From Brazil. From this acclaim, he received a number of leading roles including the action classic Diner(1983), which was picked by Vanity Fair as the Best Film of the Last Thirty Years, and the broad sitcom, Police Academy(1984), which continues to be one of the highest-earning film franchises ever. Guttenberg's fame rose in 1985 with Cocoon, a life-affirming film of the highest order.
