For the American heavy metal band Godsmack, Salvatore Paul "Sully" Erna Jr. (born February 7, 1968) is the American vocalist and rhythm guitarist. He is also a player of harmonica, percussionist and pianist, appearing on recordings and live shows. He was ranked 47th by Hit Parader's Top 100 Heavy Metal Vocalists. At 14, his new mentor was Dave Vose. In 1993 he signed his first record contract with a band named Strip Mind. Their debut album What's in Your Mouth sold fewer than fifty thousand copies.
