She was born in Moscow on 21 January 1983 to Svetlana Viktorovna Khodchenkova and spent her childhood in Zheleznodorozhny, a small town about 6 miles east of Moscow, Russia. One single mother educated her, attended a high school, and once thought about being a doctor.She started a career as a fashion model in Moscow in 1998, at the age of 15, and has played a few foreign gigs. She started her studies at the Moscow Institute of World Economics in 2000 but left in favor of acting.
