Taylor Daniel Lautner was born to Deborah, a tech business worker in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Daniel Lautner, a Midwest Airlines pilot. He and younger sister Makena were born in Hudsonville, Michigan, in a well-manned, Roman Catholic family. He is of English, German, Netherlands, and Scottish descent.At the age of six, at Fabiano's Karate Academy, Taylor started learning martial arts and he and his family soon discovered his remarkable and obvious talent for the sport. He was soon invited to practice with seven-time world karate champion Michael Chaturantabut (aka Mike Chat) and was selected to represent his country in the twelve years and in the World Karate under division at the age of eight.
