Tony Danza is an American comedian, perhaps better known for having appeared in some of the most popular and long-running television shows, including Taxi (1978-1983) and Who's the Boss (1984-1992). Danza was born and raised to Anne (Cammisa), a bookkeeper, and Matty Iadanza, a garbageman in Brooklyn, New York. His mother was an Italian immigrant and his dad was of Italian extraction as well. He was born in Malverne, Long Island. Danza received a wrestling scholarship from Dubuque University in Iowa, where he earned a bachelor's degree in history education. He had found himself making a living as a professional boxer before taking a job coaching, expecting himself to be the next Rocky Graziano.
