William James Dixon (July 1, 1915 – January 29, 1992) was an American blues guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, arranger and record producer. He was talented at playing both the upright bass and guitar, and sang with a distinctive voice, but he is probably better known as one of the most prolific songwriters of his day.Dixon's songs have been recorded in many genres by numerous artists, as well as various ensembles in which he has performed. His most popular works include "Hoochie Coochie Guy," "I Only Want to Let You Happy," "Little Red Rooster," "My Baby," "Spoonful," and "You Can't Choose a Cover Book."
