David Nesta "Ziggy" Marley (born 17 October 1968) is a Jamaican musician and band leader Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, and son of Bob Marley and Rita Marley, a reggae icon.David Marley appeared in the earliest known record of his musical career as part of a singing group named The Seven Do Bees, made up of him and his friends, and in which he got the stage name "Freddie Dic." Nevertheless, the name never stood still, and instead David was known as "Ziggy," a nickname given to him by his father Bob Marley, meaning "little spliff."
