How tall is George Maharis?
Tall, dark and sexy, not to mention a 60s Hollywood charismatic revolutionary, actor George Maharis (real Greek family name is Mahairas) was born as one of seven children in 1928 in Astoria, New York. His boss, an immigrant, was a restorer. George showed an early interest in singing and initially tried it as a hobby, but his chords were robbed of severe overuse and unsuitable voice lessons and he afterwards veered towards an acting career.Educated at the Neighborhood Playhouse with Sanford Meisner and the Actor's Workshop with Lee Strasberg, the actor "Method" found roles on dramatic TV, including a few episodes of "The Naked City," and earned an early reputation for himself on the off-Broadway scene of the late 1950s, especially with his appearances in "Deathwatch" by Jean Genet and "Zoo Tale" by Edward Albee.
