An American singer is James Roger McGuinn (born James Joseph McGuinn III; July 13, 1942). He is best known as the Byrds ' frontman. Through his association with the Byrds, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.McGuinn was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, USA. His parents, James and Dorothy, were involved in journalism and public relations and had written a bestseller, Parents Can't Win, during his youth. He attended the Chicago Latin School.Upon watching the "Heartbreak Hotel" by Elvis Presley, he became interested in music and asked his parents to buy him a guitar. (In the early 1980s, by including "Heartbreak Hotel" in his autobiographical series, he paid tribute to the hit that motivated him to play guitar).
