In New Jersey, Tom was born and grew up. He grew up in Howell City and attended Howell High School's Institute for Fine and Performing Arts. He earned his BFA in Acting from the Mason Gross School of Arts in Rutgers University, where he also performed Shakespeare in London, England, at the Globe Theater.
